Supa Transfer

How to send a 50 GB file for free

Email can't: Gmail and Outlook.com stop at about 25 MB. Most free transfer services stop between 2 and 10 GB. Two free ways handle 50 GB: SwissTransfer, which uploads up to 50 GB per transfer to its servers, and a direct transfer app such as Supa Transfer, which sends it straight from your computer to theirs.

How long 50 GB takes

50 GB is 400 gigabits. Divide by your upload speed for the time it takes to send:

With an upload service, that's how long the upload takes before the link exists, and the recipient then downloads it all again. A direct transfer makes one trip: the files stream to them as they're sent, at the speed of the slower of your upload and their download.

Send 50 GB with Supa Transfer

  1. Download Supa Transfer for Mac, Windows or Linux and sign in. The person you're sending to does the same; a free account is enough.
  2. Drop the file or folder in. Folders go as they are, so there's no need to zip them first.
  3. Click Copy ticket and send the ticket in any chat or email.
  4. They paste it under Receive and click Receive. Keep Supa Transfer sharing until they're done; closing the window keeps it going from the menu bar or tray.

If either connection drops, it retries and picks up where it stopped, and every byte is checked against a BLAKE3 hash on arrival. A 50 GB send uses your whole month of free sending, and the recipient's month of free receiving; for more, Pro is $2.99 a month for unlimited sending and receiving.

Send 50 GB with SwissTransfer

Upload the files on swisstransfer.com and share the link it gives you. The recipient needs nothing, and you can switch off once the upload finishes. The files are stored in Switzerland until the transfer expires and are not end-to-end encrypted; the 50 GB limit covers all files together, and creating transfers isn't available from some countries outside Europe.
